The MKxx61GSYD series provides a selection of 7,200 RPM 2.5-inch (6.4cm) Self-Encrypting Drives (SED)* which offers government-grade AES-256 hardware encryption incorporated in the disk drive’s controller electronics.
Based on the Opal Security Subsystem Class (Opal SSC) specification from the Trusted Computing Group (TCG), the Toshiba SED enables secure and quick deployment of encryption on notebook and desktop PCs to protect confidential information.
The MKxx61GSYD family offers storage capacities of 160GB, 250GB, 320GB, 500GB and 640GB, with an interface transfer speed of 3 Gb/s and a high areal density of up to 512.1 Gb/in2 respectively.
The 640GB MKxx61GSYD consumes only 0.00013W/GB and operates at a lower temperature, reducing the environmental impact. In line with Toshiba’s commitment, all drives are fully compliant with RoHS regulation and halogen-free.
This series is also available with enhanced SED technology [Model MKxx61GSYG], engineered to automatically invalidate protected data.
*The SED option is not available in some EMEA countries.
