Toshiba Storage Device Division continues to reinforce its leadership by introducing its second range of industrial grade drives; MK4050GACE and MK8050GACE. The new drives have been especially designed through extensive work together with leading industrial manufacturers. These drives are based on specifications from the demanding automotive environment but are produced specifically for aftermarket suppliers entering the growing personal navigation device market as well as robotics, factory/industrial PCs and other critical industrial applications.

The 40GB and 80GB Temperature Enhanced Drives (TED) can endure extreme operating conditions in wide temperature zones from sub-freezing to extreme heat (-30° to 85° operating / -40° to 95° non-operating) whilst the spindle motor runs at 4,200 rpm. In addition, the MK4050GACE and the MK8050GACE can withstand operational shock of up to 300g and non-operational shock of 800g, providing a rugged and dependable option for many industrial automated machines.
